SPG Annual Conference 2019
Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel, Water Street, Manchester M3 4JQ
SPG’s 2019 flagship event will be held in the diverse and energetic town of Manchester. Known throughout the world as the birthplace of the industrial revolution, Manchester has a proud history in science, politics, music, arts and sport, and combines this heritage with a progressive vision to be a city that delivers surprise and delight in equal measures. Manchester will be the perfect setting for our Conference which is focussed on inspiring Sole Practitioners and helping them to navigate the difficult roads ahead.
All sole practitioner solicitors are invited to join us on this highly educational, enjoyable, and thought-provoking weekend. Many opportunities will be provided to learn about the profession and business practice, as well as gain insights and advice from the excellent panel of speakers we have lined up. We also invite members of small firms who will find our event extremely useful and an economical way to achieve training objectives. Of course, as with previous conferences, you are most welcome to bring family members to enjoy the hotel and the social side of the weekend.
The speakers will include representatives from the SRA and Law Society of England & Wales.
The conference will start on Friday 5th April with an opportunity to network with your fellow guests and the Executive Committee at our Welcome Event which will include a buffet dinner and entertainment.
On Saturday 6th April, there will be a full day of presentations by eminent guest speakers. Our AGM on Saturday will give members a chance to put their points of view to the committee, and perhaps consider volunteering to work with them.
That evening we will all enjoy a champagne reception, followed by our Bollywood black-tie gala dinner, including a prize draw, entertainment and a disco.
On Sunday 7th April, we will start the day with a riverboat tour of Manchester and finish the Conference with lunch at 1.45pm.
The committee looks forward to seeing you at this annual event, learning from the professional, practice and business sessions while networking with your fellow sole practitioners, and enjoying the evening events and entertainment.
